Dr. Teysha Thomas, Board Chair
Dr. Teysha B. Thomas has been enthralled in the world of pharmacy for over 15 years. She received her Bachelor of Sciences degree in Biology from Albany State University in Albany, Georgia in 2005. While attending Albany State, she gained mentoring and leadership training that fueled her passion to give back to future leaders. Dr. Thomas then went on to receive her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University’s College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2011. She has worked for three Fortune 500 companies and currently serves her community as a retail and consultant pharmacist. Her most rewarding moments in life have occurred while mentoring young people and helping her patients to improve their quality of life. She understands that to be a true agent of change, one must not only identify problems, but provide solutions and implement change without being rewarded for doing so. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, exercising, and spending time with family and friends. Dr. Thomas is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc and is married to Mr. Taiye Thomas.
Nikki Lyons is a native of Griffin, Georgia and resides in Gainesville, Florida. She works as an Instructional Designer and Professional Trainer at the University of Florida. As a member of Training and Organizational Development, she focuses on improving faculty and staff performance in financial systems and human resources. She believes that providing key members of the University’s professional community with necessary skills and knowledge will prepare them to educate, support, and empower the student body. Nikki is an education professional with over five years of experience teaching in the K-8 setting, two years of experience teaching at the collegiate level, and two years of experience facilitating programming that fosters leadership and career exploration in youth. She attended Albany State University in Albany, Georgia where she earned Bachelor of Science (2008) and Master of Education (2011) degrees in Early Childhood Education. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Master of Arts in Instructional Technology (2015). In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to music, cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Nikki is a member of Tau Beta Sigma, National Honorary Band Sorority.

DERON S. WILLIAMS is an accomplished director, producer, scholar, and Ph.D. candidate in TexasTech University’s unique Interdisciplinary Fine Arts Doctoral Program with focal studies inActing/Directing and Arts Administration and supplemental studies in art, music, and philosophy. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from Albany State University in 2006 and Master of Arts degree in Arts Administration from Eastern Michigan University in 2008. DeRon is an experienced educator and theatre professional. He has worked for his alma mater, Albany State, as a Program Coordinator in the Office of Student Life & Activities and Interim Director of Theatre/Instructor of Theatre in the Department of Fine Arts. Upon graduation from Texas Tech University, Mr. Williams hopes to return to higher education, serving in an artistically administrative position, while continuing his career as a freelance director. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and attending arts events. DeRon is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and associate member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.
