Project M.A.L.E. seeks male minority youth from all backgrounds in third through eighth grades.  These mature young men should demonstrate leadership potential either through their social activities or educational endeavors. Most importantly, potential participants should have a desire to make a difference in their lives and communities.

Project M.A.L.E. has an open enrollment period from June to August where young men apply, via our website and are interviewed for membership. Selected young men, as well as returning members then start the new year after the mandatory parent/member meeting held in late August. There is no cap on the number of young men selected each year.

Project M.A.L.E. meets at least twice per month for at least 3 hours each meeting. The meetings are called empowerment sessions, where one of the 3 tiers is covered.

Detailed Criteria for Membership:

  • Be able to attend meetings twice a month
  • Be able to participate in all fundraisers
  • Be able to attend required community service and social events
  • Must have full support from the parent and child
